WELCOME!

Oct 2, 2025

Welcome to the EMS Hub of Southwest Missouri

Pull up a chair, grab a cup of bad station coffee (you know, the kind that tastes like sadness and melted IV tubing), and make yourself at home—because this site is built for you.

That’s right, this is your corner of the internet if you’re an EMT, paramedic, first responder, or even just someone who once Googled, “How fast can an ambulance really go?”

Why This Site Exists

Southwest Missouri has a ton of EMS agencies, and each one has its own quirks, strengths, and inside jokes. Until now, if you wanted to know about them, you’d either:
- Rely on word of mouth (which usually comes with 15% truth and 85% barbecue gossip), or
- Scroll through Facebook pages that haven’t been updated since Obama’s first term.

This site fixes that. It’ll be a resource hub where you can:
- Learn about EMS agencies in our region (who they are, what they do, and which ones have the best station snacks).
- Read regular blog posts on everything from protocol changes to “Top 10 Excuses for Why the Back of the Rig Smells Like Tacos.”
- Eventually, shop for personal EMS items—because let’s be honest, you don’t really need another station t-shirt, but you’re going to buy one anyway.

What to Expect

Every week (or more often if I’m feeling particularly caffeinated), you’ll see new posts covering:
- Education & Training: Fast, useful refreshers on bread-and-butter calls and “oh-no” situations.
- Local EMS Spotlights: Meet the crews and agencies serving southwest Missouri.
- Life on the Truck: Humor, stories, and tips that only make sense if you’ve ever tried to chart while being bounced around like a crash-test dummy.
- Gear & Gadgets: Reviews, recommendations, and maybe even a few items for sale that’ll make your shift easier—or at least make you look cooler doing it.

Why Stick Around?

Because EMS is more than a job—it’s a lifestyle. One minute you’re saving a life, the next you’re debating whether Casey’s pizza counts as a food group (spoiler: it does).

Here, you’ll get information, laughs, and maybe even a sense of community that makes those 3 a.m. calls feel a little less lonely.

So buckle up, crew—it’s going to be a wild ride.
