Dr. Morgan began his career in EMS in 1977 with his first EMT course. He became a Missouri-licensed paramedic in 1980. He has been employed as a prehospital provider & field supervisor by Carthage Ambulance Service, Joplin Emergency Medical Services (JEMS), & Newton County Ambulance District.
Today he is a Board-certified emergency medicine physician. As a Medical Officer with the Oklahoma DMAT team he has served as an on-site physician at the Oklahoma City bombing, 2001 Presidential Inauguration, and World Trade Center 9/11 disaster.
He serves as EMS Medical Director for METS (formally JEMS), Newton County Ambulance District, Barton County Ambulance District, & the Joplin Fire Department. He is also EMD Medical Director for (3) area 911 dispatch centers.
